The ‘e’ in Gavita Pro E-Series 6/750e DE Flex grow light stands for “external control.” These powerful lights can be centrally controlled with Gavita Master controllers. This centralized management system eliminates the hassle of hiring contactors to install complicated management systems, clocks, and adds safety features such as automatic dimming at high temperatures and even a safety shutdown. Gavita was the first to introduce double-ended 1000W HPS lamps to the indoor growers and were the first to launch a double-ended 750W HPS lamp. This lamp bridges the gap between a 600W single-ended and a 1000W double-ended fixture.

The Pro E-Series 6/750e DE Flex is not a clumsy mashup of a remote ballast and reflector - it is designed as a complete and uniform fixture. The high-quality white coating is durable and UV resistant, all the terminals are sealed with gaskets, and contact and terminals are if the highest quality. The 6/750e is designed with balance in mind so it can easily be mounted by just two hanging points for simple installation with brackets from C-profiles, for example.

Complete Fixture

The Pro E-Series 6/750e DE Flex innovative design integrated the ballast and reflector for a more compact fixture. There are no external lamp wires so the fixture’s low in EMI, making it compliant with FCC regulations. All Gavita CMH fixtures are FCC tested and compliant.

Additional Information

Many grow spaces don’t have enough height to run a 1000W fixture at 100% and other spaces simply don’t require the intensity. Continually running a 1000W lamp at 750W isn’t recommended since the lamp won’t reach its full efficiency and the spectrum will deteriorate. Those situations call for the 6/750 DE FLEX’s more efficient, less expensive to operate, and much better spectrum. The 6/750 was named for the efficiency of the lamp - dimmed to 600W it still performs as well as any other 600W industry standard HPS lamp. With the 750W you can bring the fixture almost a foot closer to your plants!

The Pro E-Series 6/750e DE Flex is made up of a ballast, reflector and lamp in one compact unit. Made according to horticultural standards, the housing of the ballast is sealed and contains a Gore-Tex plug to ventilate the housing while keeping dust and humidity out.

Ballast output can be controlled by the Gavita Master controllers or an external switch, allowing it to be adjusted to 400, 500, 600, 750, and 825 watt boosted output. The Master Controller can centrally control the output hundreds of fixtures in a range between 375 and 825 watts of output power. Using the Master Controller protects your valuable crop with its auto-dim and auto-shutdown features while completely automating light control.

The 6/750e DE Flex’s high frequency ballast was carefully designed specifically for the Gavita double ended HPS lamp, resulting in an accurate, optimal output, a stable burning lamp and a better light maintenance over time. The ballast is not suitable to run Metal Halide lamps.

The reflector is replaceable (it’s recommended to replace it every year to two years) and there you have a choice of replacement reflectors:

• The HR96 DE is the industry standard reflector delivered with the fixture. Use for overlapping configurations, assuring optimal uniformity and penetration.
• The W 150 DE for large rooms and wide configurations, where uniformity and lower light levels are required. 150 degrees beam angle, for double ended lamps.
• The M 110 DE SR for use in single rows and small rooms, where a single reflector needs to create uniformity and high light levels. 110 degrees beam angle, for double ended lamps.

The spread of the Pro 6//750 with the HR96 DE reflector is about 3×4.5 ft (90×135 cm) at 2.5 ft distance in overlapping plans, providing light levels of up to 1000 µmol s-1 m-2.
The fixture’s light source is a Gavita Pro 750W double ended HPS lamp, generating 1450 µmol s-1 of light. With a light maintenance of over 96% per 5000 hours you only need to replace it once a year.

Complete Lighting Control at your Fingertips

Gavita Master Controllers offer maximum control, ease of use, plug and play installation and safety for centralized management of your Gavita lighting system. Connect the controller cables to the fixtures with the included T-splitter (see diagram), set the dials on the fixtures to EXT (External control), plug the controller and the fixtures directly into mains and you are ready!

A Gavita Master Controller can switch all interconnected fixtures on and off using its internal timer, adjust them to your required output level (in percentage or exact output power) and even simulate sunrise and sunset to gradually adjust the climate in your grow room when your lights go on or off. This electronic controller replaces expensive lighting timers and contactors while preventing ballast current in-rush when switching on your lights.

Two very important features of the Gavita Master Controller are autodim and emergency shut-down. When the temperatures in your grow room exceed the level of your climate control your plants can be damaged beyond recovery. The unit’s temperature probe will sense this change and automatically dim the lights so your space doesn’t exceed a safe temperature, and will then maintain that temperature. The display and warning LED will let you know when this happens, even while you were away so you can correct the problem. If for any reason your climate control completely fails and the temperature rises to unacceptable levels, the system will perform an emergency shutdown of all connected equipment. The alarm contact of the controller can be connected to you alarm system for instant notification.

You can connect all your e-series fixtures to one controller, even divided in 2 separate rooms with their own temperature sensor for auto-dim at high temperature and emergency shutdown at extreme temperature. There are different controllers available to suit your specific requirements. For auxiliary equipment you can connect up to two accessory Gavita ECM contactor modules, one to switch equipment when lights are on (for example a humidifier, CO2 equipment or air conditioning) and one for during lights off (for example a room heater).
